Batavia Mothers' Club Coat Donation • September 26 - October 10
As all Midwesterners know, the winters can be especially cold — even downright freezing. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to warm clothing when the temperature drops. But when a strong community comes together, the right resources can be available to those in need.
Beginning on September 26th and running until October 10th, the Batavia Mothers’ Club will be holding its annual Coat Drive. Last year, the club collected over 770 items (!!!) for adults and children which were donated to the Batavia Interfaith Clothes Closet and Chip IN. A few examples of items that were donated last year include the following:
- Winter coats and jackets
- Scarves, hats, and mittens
- Boots
- Sweaters
- Snow pants
The coat drive will also take items including,
- Blankets
- Sheets
- Towels
- Socks
- Thermals
- Baby Clothing
The Batavia Mothers' Club asks that you donate clean, reusable winter apparel to be distributed free to community members of all ages. You can find drop-off locations here.
If you can, take time to gather your extra cold-weather items and donate them to those in need. From gloves to coats and everything in between, anything helps. Let’s strive to exceed the number of donations in 2020!
Just one item can make a world of difference.
